You Don't Need Sight...

to Have Incredible Vision

This month, I interviewed Uyanga Erdenebold.

Uyanga is a wife, mother, public affairs specialist...and the first BLIND person in Mongolia to receive a Fulbright Scholarship to study in the United States.

While the scholarship is alone impressive, at the conclusion of her studies, Uyanga returned to Mongolia with a guide dog  - the gorgeous Gladys - at her side.  Gladys was the first guide dog Mongolians had ever seen...and they had no idea what to think of her.

This is your chance to hear an incredibly inspiring and empowering story of how one person overcame a myriad of life obstacles...and subsequently leveraged those experiences and the connections she made along the way to both facilitate the drafting and passage of the first ever rights-based legislation for disabled people in Mongolia and plant the seeds for the establishment of the first guide dog training school in Mongolia.

SERVE

Our November Spotlight provides deep insight into the concept of what it is to serve.  Over the course of nearly 20 years, Uyanga Erdenebold slowly went blind.  As her vision decreased, her reliance on others increased exponentially. Liberated from that dependency by her trusted guide dog, Gladys, Uyanga advocated for herself...and ultimately all disabled people in Mongolia...by educating people on how to help and, more importantly, how to empower the physically and mentally challenged.
